A connection fee is charged for connecting to the electricity distribution network in accordance with the price list.
The connection fee covers the construction costs of the distribution network up to the connection point. The distribution network includes medium- and low-voltage networks as well as distribution transformers. The connection fee also includes connection to the distribution network and the installation of a consumption meter.
Depending on the structure of the distribution network, the connection point can be a distribution cabinet, an underground cable on the border of the plot, an overhead trunk line or a distribution substation. Primarily, the connection point is located on the border of the plot.
The connection fee is refundable, and no value added tax (VAT) is charged. When the connection is dismantled, the connection fee will be refunded minus the cancellation costs. Previously defined connection or area prices will be processed in accordance with the agreed terms.
Below you will find the connection price list and principles in the distribution area of Nurmijärven Sähköverkko Oy.
Low-voltage connections
The connection fee for low-voltage connections is based on the size of the main fuse and the distance measured as beeline from the existing distribution substation. Zone pricing is used to determine the effect of distance. Zone pricing refers to the uniform division of low-voltage connections into different zones based on their geographical location. Nurmijärven Sähköverkko Oy has two zones in use.
Zone 1 covers the existing local detailed plan area. Zone 1 also includes junctions outside the local detailed plan area, which are located directly from the plot boundary at 200 m from the existing distribution substation.
Zone 2 is valid outside the local detailed plan area with junctions of up to 3x63A located at no more than 600 m from the existing distribution transformer substation. With fuses larger than this, the distance from the existing distribution substation is no more than 300 m.
Area pricing refers to the determination of the connection price of a certain pre-defined area that is not included in zone pricing. The area price is formed by dividing the construction costs of the estimated connections in the limited area subject to pricing by the number of potential connections in the area. However, when applying area pricing, the minimum price of the connection is the connection fee according to zone 2.
| MAIN FUSE SIZE | Zone 1 | Zone 2 |
|---|---|---|
| 3x25A | €1,925 | €2,300 |
| 3x35A | €2,695 | €3,220 |
| 3x50A | €3,850 | €4,600 |
| Up to 100A | €77/A | €92/A |
| Over 100A | €74/A | €89/A |
The capacity reservation fee for the low-voltage network is €48.30/kVA.
No VAT is charged on connection fees.
Medium- and high-voltage connections
In this context, a medium-voltage network refers to an electricity network with a voltage level of 20 kV and a high-voltage network refers to a 110 kV electricity network. The subscriber owns and pays for its transformer substation and is responsible for its use and related installations. In addition, the person joining must have their own manager for the use of electrical equipment.
In the medium and high-voltage network, the connection fee is based on two components: the connection, construction and other possible costs directly incurred by the network operator for connecting to the network, and the cost of capacity reservation:
Connection fee = a + b x P, where
a includes the direct network extension costs of connecting to the network and any network security costs resulting from the connection, but excludes the costs of strengthening the network [€],
b is the capacity reservation cost, which also covers the cost of strengthening the existing medium and high-voltage network [€/kVA], and
P is the connection power [kVA] of the connector.
When estimating construction costs, the unit prices used in the Energy Authority’s determination of the network value are used.
The capacity reservation fee for the medium-voltage network is €23.50/kVA
The capacity reservation fee for the high-voltage network is €10.10/kVA
No VAT is charged on connection fees.
Increasing the size of a connection and a 3-phased connection
When the size of the connection is increased, an additional connection fee is charged from the connection, which is the difference between the connection fees corresponding to the fuse sizes of the connection in accordance with the connection fee price list. For the old single-phase connection, half of the price of the 3x25A connection in the corresponding zone will be refunded. In areas that are not subject to zone pricing, network expansion costs are charged on a case-by-case basis.
Decreasing the size of a connection
When an old connection is downgraded, no refund will be paid to the subscriber.
Production connections
A connection fee of up to 2 MVA will be charged for any network expansion costs caused by the connection. In connection fees exceeding 2 MVA, any network expansion costs caused by the connection and a capacity reservation fee are charged.
Temporary connections
Temporary connections are charged for metering connection fees and the costs of building, strengthening and dismantling the network.
Connection cable
The connection fee does not include the connection cable to be built from the connection point onwards, which is used to connect the connection’s electrical installations to the electricity network. The cross-sectional surface, structure and installation method of the connection cable must meet the requirements of the distribution system operator. The person connecting the connection cable can have the construction carried out by a contractor of their choice.
Putting a connection to maintenance
If the property does not need electricity, but you want to keep the connection valid, the connection can be put to maintenance. In this case, the electricity is cut off from the property, and the electricity meter is retrieved. The subscriber pays a monthly fee for maintenance.
Maintenance fees from 1.8.2025 (Maintenance agreements made before 1.8.2025 will be transferred to uniform pricing from 1.3.2026.) Invoicing once a year.
| 25A – 63A | €20/month |
| 80A – 100A | €45/month |
| over 100A | €100/month |
| Medium-voltage connection | €200/month |
