Connection price and delivery

The price of the electricity connection and the delivery schedule are determined by the location of the connection. In an already electrified area, you will receive a connection within about a month of ordering. If new distribution network needs to be built for the electricity connection, the delivery time will be longer, and it will be specified in the agreements made for the connection. This should be considered, especially when building in a sparsely populated area. You can find more information about the connection fees in our connection price list.

Zone 1 covers the existing detailed plan area and junctions at 200 m from the existing distribution transformer.
Zone 2 is valid outside the local detailed plan area with junctions with a maximum of 3×63 A, which are located at 200-600 m from the existing distribution substation.
Area pricing refers to the determination of the connection price of a certain pre-defined area that is not included in zone pricing. The area price is formed by dividing the construction costs of the estimated connection in the limited area subject to pricing by the number of potential connections in the area. However, when applying area pricing, the minimum price of the connection is the connection fee according to zone 2.

Medium- and high-voltage connections

Ordering an electricity connection

Once the drawings of the house are ready, and your electrical designer has determined the size of the electricity connection, the easiest way to order an electricity connection is to fill in the order form. In addition to the fuse size and type (plug or handle fuse), we need information on the location of the electricity connection, the future owner and the property identifier (a site plan of the plot will be sent when requesting a building permit statement). After receiving your order, we will contact you if necessary.

Deployment of the connection

To start using an electricity connection, you will need a connection cable and a metering centre for your plot, the installation of which will be carried out by your electrical contractor. The excavation work on the plot is the responsibility of the customer. The electrical contractor sends us a metering request with a general information form when the electricity connection is ready to be connected. The request must be sent to us approximately four weeks before the desired connection date. For more information, please contact Technical customer service (09) 8780 7400.
