Maintenance of the electricity connection
If the property does not need electricity, but you want to keep the connection valid, the connection can be put to maintenance. In this case, the electricity is cut off from the property, and the electricity meter is retrieved. The subscriber pays a monthly fee for maintenance. The lowest one- or three-phase basic fee is charged for an electricity connection in maintenance in accordance with the general distribution price list.
If the connection is re-commissioned from maintenance, a connection and metering fee will be charged in accordance with our price list. If the electricity meter has previously been in residential premises, it will be moved outside to the plot electricity centre.
Termination of an electricity connection
If the use of electricity in the property stops completely, the electricity connection can be terminated. Termination must be made with our customer service. Once we have received the form, we will cancel the existing connection agreement or connection maintenance agreement. The electricity meter is removed, and the connection is dismantled if the connection has not already been in maintenance. If the connection has a refundable value, we will refund the connection fee minus the costs of dismantling the connection. If electricity is to be reconnected at the same site later, the matter will be treated as a new connection, which must be ordered and purchased separately. You can find information about new connections under the link below.

Change of ownership of an electricity connection
The owner of an electricity connection can transfer their rights based on the connection agreement to the new owner or holder of the electricity consumption point. The transfer requires that there are no receivables from the electricity distributor based on agreements concerning the electricity consumption point in question.
An electricity connection is movable property that is not automatically transferred in connection with the transfer of real estate. If the connection agreement is to be transferred to the new owner/holder of the property, the transfer must be mentioned in the deed of sale of the property, or a separate deed of transfer must be drawn up. In connection with a real estate transaction, the new owner of the property should check the transferability of the connection agreement with the transferor. If there are receivables from the party transferring the connection, the new owner of the connection can take responsibility for them or buy a new electricity connection.
In the event of a change of ownership of an electricity connection, it is advisable to contact Nurmijärven Sähkö’s customer service well in advance of the change date, so that the contractual matters related to the change can be transferred to the new owner’s name. You can send a copy of the deed of sale to us by email at asiakaspalvelu@nurmijarvensahko.fi
Main fuse and metering changes
Only the owner of the connection can make changes to the connection. Please contact Technical customer service tekninenasiakaspalvelu@nurmijarvensahko.fi well in advance of the change.
Renovation sites
Please note that in locations where the metering centre (electricity meter, main fuses and main switch) is in the living quarters, and where the renewal of the metering centre becomes topical in connection with the renovation, the metering centre must be moved outside to the plot electricity centre.
Changes to the main fuse and connection rights
If the need for electricity increases, e.g. due to a change in the heating method or charging an electric car, a larger main fuse may be required. The size of the main fuse is tied to the size of your electricity connection. The connection rights determine the maximum possible main fuse size.
If the main fuse size you need exceeds your current connection right, you must purchase an additional connection. The price of an additional connection is formed according to the location and the required amperages. An increase in the connection rights / an additional connection must be purchased before the main fuse is changed. You can find more information about electricity connection prices here.
If the main fuse size is to be decreased, the purchased connection size will be retained. In this case, only a new network agreement is made for the smaller main fuses.
Changes to the metering fuse
Changes in the size of the metering fuse can be considered in a semi-detached / terraced house where the metering centre has more than one meter.
