Purchase of small-scale production

If your solar panels produce more electricity than you need, you can sell your surplus electricity to us. Solar panels can provide you with a significant part of the energy you use from spring to autumn, and we will refund the market price for the unused electricity!

N.B! We buy electricity only from customers that also have an electricity sales contract with Nurmijärven Sähkö Oy.

We pay the micro producer (solar panels or a small wind turbine) a compensation based on the official SPOT price of the electricity exchange in Finland’s bidding area, weighted by the consumption, from which we deduct a processing fee. The processing fee covers the additional costs arising from the management of the procurement balance sheets.

If the SPOT price is negative, the customer will be charged for the excess production transferred to the grid. In addition to the negative electricity price, the customer will also have to pay a processing fee. Negative prices are possible, for example, in windy weather, and the producer then bears the risk in their production. When electricity prices are negative, it is advisable to use as much as possible of the produced energy to cover one’s own consumption.

If the micro producer is liable to pay VAT, the VAT applied at the time will be added to the purchase price.
